A Special Olympics powerlifting team is training at Big O Fitness for a meet at the Kroc Center in South Omaha in December.
For them, it is a chance to show their strength in the face of their obstacles.
Rachel Mulligan has been a Special Olympics athlete for years, and nothing gets in her way, especially when she is powerlifting.
"My most favorite is probably my squat. It's actually... one of my coaches said it's probably become my best lift because we've noticed the technique I had was getting a lot better," said Mulligan.
Mulligan is part of Team Barracudas, which has 16 athletes training in the deadlift, bench press and squat. Here, they get to prove their strength and push their limits.
